The Christmas chair shortage has forever been a feature of the festive season. You think you have enough seating and then just as you're dishing up Christmas lunch you realise that there's not enough seating for auntie Betty, none of the other chairs in the house properly fit the table, and the neighbours who have popped in for a post-lunch drink are sitting on the floor! We thought we'd look at how to create some more seating in your home for Christmas this year so that you are well-prepared in advance of the big day itself. We're open until Christmas Eve so plenty of time to pop in to our reclamation yard and pick up what you need. You're welcome!
A bench seat is a really versatile piece to have in the home. Position it in the hall to create a slim place to perch when pulling on shoes, use it in the living room as a long coffee table for entertaining, then bring it into the dining room to provide festive seating. If you can position it against a wall, all the better, so you can provide cushions for your guests to lean against. We have a few different bench seats in store, here are some examples below:
Lightweight dining chairs that stack can be easily stored and moved from room to room in a way that heavy wooden chairs can’t so easily, and so can make the perfect addition to your festive seating arrangements. Look out for folding bistro chairs or vintage school chairs that not only look super stylish, but can be neatly stored away or quickly grabbed from round the dining table to be used in the living room. Having a 'feast with a difference' for Christmas can be really fun; whether you choose an outdoor pizza oven affair or a BBQ with all the trimmings, alternative Christmas lunches can be fun, fuss-free and fabulous.
